Nail Trends in different countries

Bojana Radojicic from Belgrade, Serbia 🇷🇸

I’m 35 years old. I am a nail designer, with 8 years of experience in this wonderful job. I am a very lucky girl, because my passion become my daily job. I always try to educate myself, to learn new techniques and to be a better version of myself every day. I really like competitions. That is one way to push myself over my limits, to see how I can improve my skills. I have been a part of many competitions, and my last competition was Nails Next Top Nail Artist, sponsored by CND. It was a great experience and a new way to inte.

The Nail trend in my salon is for the moment, short – one coloured nails. Babyboomer nails are also a trend, that is taking place over french manicure. And there are always little bit extreme nail shapes, such as Russian almond nails.

Tamara Di Lullo from Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦

Hi Internation nail friends! My name is Tamara Di Lullo and I am a CND education and brand ambassador for Canada – I completed my CND Bootcamp training in January 2017 and have been humbled by CND acceptance of my work and continued support. I am an editorial nail artist and owner of award-winning salon @candynailbar since 2009. I specialize in hand-painted Nail art and have had the pleasure and honor to work with many celeberities (even our very own Jan Arnold!) and create designs for CND design lab and particpate in NYFW and Toronto Fashion weeks.
Before opening my salon I worked as a fashion designer for almost 10 years so trends and direction are my passion and I love translating that to nails! I am excited to start offering more education course and workshops this year – please follow me for updates on dates for 2019.

This summer Botancials (like mini-florals, succulents, butterflies) are super hot! These can be interpreted traditionally with fine drawings or encapsulation of dried flowers The soft vintage spring vibes,…aquarelle and negative space will gradually become more colorful and graphic as we transition into summer and then the fall season!
Ceramic or tile nails and crochet style in earthy tones are trending in a more Hipster – vibe which is so strong right now. This trend has been around for a few years in Japan but I see it being used by more American nail techs. Thsi can be completed beautifully with BRISA gel over a CND Shellac with Matte top coat for extra texture!
Steet Art-inspired! This is my favorite style and always has been! I created super colorful Graffitti nails for CND Prismatic summer avant-garde looks which I am excited to share.

Claudia Wittelings from Maastricht, The Nederlands 🇳🇱

My name is Claudia, 35 years old. I’m married to Ivo, the most sweetest man and mom to Sem, (9). Next to two men I also have a small zoo at home, that I’m really enjoying. My career started as a beautyspecialist and I did pedicures. But nails started to become my big passion really fast. I have a nails studio at home since 2011. And I’m enjoying the creations that I can create there. Next to my clients I’m also in a competition team, that’s called the Dutch nail team. I find it super fun and competitions are really addicted, because it can always be better, hahaha. My ambitions is to continue growing and I want to become a educator in the future.

The Nail trend and what I mostly do is French manicure on my clients and short full colour with liquid and powder.

Angelika Sidiropoulou from Athens, Greece 🇬🇷

Since I was 12 years old , I was interested in beautyfull nails and different styles of Art. As a child I started to study Batik (Painting on Silk) and at 14 years old I came to the Modeling World and started my career as a Photo Model for UK Models Agency. At my 16 I organized my first Catwolk for a companys opening event , where I was responsible for all Beauty Looks of the models, Hair, Make Up, Nails . In between I was studying a Phylology and Turism and the goal of my life was to become a teacher.
But the passion for the Art was always here with me, Whatever I was doing in my life. I always gave an attention to every single detail of any Beauty look, so the Nails for me was a Canvas where I could create my own world.
In 1999 I completed my first Nail Studies in Unesco, France Academy. A while ago, was difficult for the Nail Industry with Pure techniques and low products range, so my brain was always working on how to create something new .
Years of hard working every single day bring me open SANGELICA Nail Academy in 2010. 6 years later I opened a 5 stars Nail Salon Beauty Suite in Athens Greece , wich provide a Hight quality Beauty Services. For more than 10 years, I was traveling the world and teaching Nails Internationally, creating new techniques such as Well Known SUGAR MANICURE (2011) .
Now I am leading SANGELICA , Couture Nail Products Brand and couching Nail Professionals, creating Nail teaching programs, Photoshoots and Catwalks across the Globe. My aim is :Outside Beauty should be atracted from the inside, and every detail matters.

Catriona Leith from Cambridge, England 🇬🇧

I have been in the nail industry for over 11 years now and have trained in all aspects of nail care ranging from simple manicures and pedicures to UV gel enhancements and detailed nail art. I run The Nail Studio at the bottom of my garden which works well with my lovely young family. I have always wanted to better myself and push the boundaries of my ability and found competing a great way to do this. I won my first competition in March 2009 for Professional Beauty International Novice Tip & Overlay and came runner up for Professional Beauty Rising Star 2009. More recently I won The Great Scratch Shoot Out 2016 and placed second in Professional Beauty International Salon Nails and Second in Beauty UK Top Tech Photographic Nail Art competitions. Earlier this year I was honoured to become the first UK Akzentz Ambassador for Hazel Dixon and her team. I am extremely passionate about the Nail Industry and love sharing my ideas and knowledge with my fabulous Nail Tech friends.

Curenntly my favourite nail trend at the moment are the tapered square shape, I love when sculpted properly they can look so slender and flattering. My clients are lovingthemat the moment!! I am also enjoying any fine line work; I love creating different patterns, the thinner the line the better satifiction I get! I think swirls look really sleek and classy.
